Arizona’s Results for No Child Waiting Conference on February 11, 2012

• Approximately 580 people attended representing more than 290 different families
• Of those families, 144 families initiated the process of adoption from foster care at the event by getting their fingerprints done; this represents 49.3% of families in attendance
• 6 agencies and ministries were on site to answer participant’s questions and help them start the process of adoption from foster care
• More than 130 different churches were represented at Wait No More
• All participating families received complimentary copies of Focus on the Family resources: Handbook on Thriving as an Adoptive Family, Wait No More: One Family’s Amazing Adoption Journey, and “Wrapping Around Adoptive Families”

National Adoption Day is a national day of celebration of adoptive families and an opportunity for courts to open their doors and finalize the adoptions of children from foster care. Since 2000, more than 35,000 children have had their adoptions finalized on National Adoption Day.

On November 19, 2011, families, adoption advocates, policymakers, judges and volunteers will come together and celebrate adoption in communities large and small all across the nation.
