This class is designed to help foster parents identify what happens to a child who has been sexually abused, understand why sexual abuse occurs and how sexual abuse affects children and their families, identify the effects of sexual abuse on children, and identify strategies to help children heal.

Foster parents understand that the case plan goal of the children in their home is usually reunification, and they expect that the children will leave their home in an orderly fashion at some point in the future, But, what can foster parents do when, as a result of unplanned circumstances or unmanageable behavior, an unplanned move seems to be in the best interest of the child and the foster family? This class will examine some of the factors that contribute to instability and unplanned disruptions, and how foster parents can recover from the losses experienced when a placement disrupts.
Managing Difficult Behaviors

This class is designed to help families understand what may be causing negative behaviors and tantrums, and to identify strategies that can help parents end the battles and restore secure, healthy and positive interactions with the children in the home.
